When I got to work this morning, the lights were off and no one was about. Normally, the receptionist is there before me, but I thought she might have arranged to take the day off. We have flex time, and others in the office usually come in later. After a few hours, my boss showed up and was surprised to see me. Turns out it was a day off, but no one had told me, perhaps because I wasn't there on Friday.
I'll be having a quiet Christmas at home with L. My Dad is visiting my sister and her family in northern Alberta, and my brother is in Costa Rica. It has been a while since we had the whole family together at Christmas. I enjoy quiet time with L best of all, but I also miss the large family gatherings of my childhood.
