Recession? What recession?

Spotted this Lamborghini Diablo while out and about today. A block further on, saw a red Ferrari (not sure what model) at a car wash. Lots of Harleys rumbling around, too. Once the streets get icy and the city starts salting them, this $275K sports car will no doubt be garaged until spring.

There are a number of hills and escarpments in Calgary, and at various places the city has built wooden stairways. I haven't been able to find a map that shows them, so we've made a point of trying to find them when we are out walking. They aren't always easy to see. A few weeks ago, we spotted a new one, and today we climbed it. It didn't go anywhere very interesting, just to a residential area on a cul-de-sac. But from there we found a trail going downhill in another direction, which led us through an unfamiliar area where we found three other stairways. We'll check them out later. One goes down from a bridge to an island park.

Tonight we had a great Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and veggies, followed by pumpkin pie and ice cream for dessert.

A few examples of trees broken by the accumulation of snow, as mentioned in my last post. The snow is gone, but the damage remains.
