Went hiking in Fish Creek Park today. We started from the east side this time. The terrain here didn't seem as interesting to me as the west, though oddly enough there were many more people around. Too many; there was a lake on the map I wanted to look at, but when we got within a few hundred yards of it we could hear a lifeguard speaking through a megaphone, and could see many people on the shore. We went in another direction, and climbed some hills. After having injured my ankle two weeks ago, I was paranoid as hell about gopher holes on the trail. Most inconsiderate of them to dig where I might step! I didn't have any problems, though, and my ankle held up well for the 90 minutes or so we spent there. In future, I'll probably stick to the west side. It's easier to get to, too.
