I find that I'm reading more since I opened a LibraryThing account. I always have at least one book on the go now. Once I've entered a new book and a "started reading" date, I am motivated to read every day until I'm finished. Before, I would sometimes get sidetracked by life events and put a book aside for days at a time. It's also nice to have a "virtual bookshelf" of what I've read, since much of what I read comes from the public library.
