Weaselhead

On Sunday, I rented a car and drove about 200 km in search of a few far-flung geocaches, ending at the Weaselhead area in the afternoon. I spend a couple of hours hiking in this park, and took the picture above on my way back to the parking lot while crossing a pedestrian bridge shortly before sunset. I had previously seen Weaselhead from the top of the embankment shown in the photo, but this was my first time in the park. Most interesting was that there is an area of deep forest in the centre of the park. Tall trees, fallen timber, very hushed. I wish I had taken some pictures there, but I was too focused on tracking down a geocache. If the weather holds, I may return on the weekend.

A few examples of trees broken by the accumulation of snow, as mentioned in my last post. The snow is gone, but the damage remains.
