On Saturday, I took a day trip to Big Hill Springs and Cochrane, about 20 miles northwest of here. It was the last day of spring, and the weather was perfect. This was my first time out of town since my visit to Palm Springs in early February. Every time I take one of these day trips, it takes longer to drive out of Calgary, because new construction is spreading the city out so quickly.

We found about a dozen geocaches, half of them brass caps (survey markers). While in Cochrane, we stopped for ice cream at MacKays (the real reason Calgarians visit Cochrane).
