Google Maps is now offering a feature called Google Transit, which allows you to plan trips on Calgary Transit (and, presumably, the transit systems of other cities). Nice idea, but Calgary Transit has their own trip planner which I think is more useful. Usually, though, I just open a PDF transit map and zoom in on the area I want to go to, then check the schedule online for departure times.

I do like Google Maps for planning trips when I am driving, though. That has saved me time and kept me from getting lost more than once. I use it for geocaching, too, in a variety of ways (e.g. checking the satellite view of a cache location before searching).
