We went southeast, staying overnight in Medicine Hat and visiting Red Rock Coulee and some other nearby sites.
I've visited Red Rock a few times before, and have posted pictures before, too, so I'm limiting myself to posting one photo. It was hot there, about 33° C, and after hiking around the coulee for an hour or two we were exhausted.
While driving around looking for a geocache, we discovered a windpower museum at Etzikom. The windmill was an important technology in the early settlement of western Canada, enabling settlers to pump water. I wonder if high energy prices will bring the windmill back in a big way, especially for farms, ranches or other remote locations.
