Mother's Day

me, my mother and my sister in 1953

This picture is of me, my mother and my sister. It was taken in 1953. My mother died twenty years ago, and my sister now has two grown children and a couple of grandchildren.

Before she died, my mother asked if I would forget her when she was gone. I replied that of course I wouldn't; one doesn't forget one's mother. There have been very few days since when I haven't thought of her. Certainly I've been thinking of her a great deal today.

Thanks, Mum, wherever you may be.
