Today was my fifty-sixth birthday. For an older guy, I seem to be doing OK. I'm still in good health and good spirits, and I am confident that life holds more challenges, joys and learning experiences for me in the future.

Lorna gave me a GPS unit, a Garmin eTrex. I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but I hope to do some geocaching with it soon. She also took me to dinner at the Chili Club Thai House, where I had a Singha beer, South Thai salad and shrimp curry. It was delicious and very spicy; the coconut ice cream with fresh fruit we had for dessert was the perfect ending to the meal.
