You know what bugs me about all this Harry Potter hype? They keep showing a segment on TV here, with a teenager saying how glad he is that the new book is out because it has been 2 years since the last one and he hasn't had anything to read.

It doesn't bother me that lots of people are reading the books, or that J.K. Rowling has become richer than the Queen, but how can this kid (and I'm sure there are many more like him) not realize that bookstores and libraries are full of books, maybe even some he would like better than HP! The schools and the media should be capitalizing on the HP phenomenon with information about other books that HP fans might enjoy, but I haven't seen that happening.
