I want to get some engrossing TV series on DVD to watch over the summer. I'm thinking HBO's Rome might be a good one to get. Battlestar Galactica (beloved of Ms. Martha Hackman) sounds interesting, too. Any others worth getting? If someone asked me this question, I'd probably recommend Blackadder (first 3 seasons) and Northern Exposure.

I took my last walk through Penny Lane today. It is (was) a shopping mall in a converted two-story brick warehouse near here, filled with restaurants and shops. I've been walking through it nearly every day on my way home from work via the Plus 15, and have shopped and dined there many times over the past 35 years. After today, it will be closed and torn down to make way for a pair of office towers.

A few examples of trees broken by the accumulation of snow, as mentioned in my last post. The snow is gone, but the damage remains.
