I see that Calgary's population has officially reached the 1 million mark. It was about 400,000 when I first moved here. It has always seemed too big, busy and bustling to me. I was raised in a city of about 30,000 and imprinted on that.

I am planning a day trip to Banff and Kootenay on the weekend. My first adventure of my 56th year! It should be fun.
