Yesterday, in addition to being Independence Day, was Lorna's birthday. I gave her her presents and card in the morning (Godiva chocolates, Coco Chanel perfume, a new hairdryer, and the card had a picture of frogs), and took her to dinner in the evening. We ate on the patio at The Old Spaghetti Factory.

Stampede doesn't start until Friday, but I passed two Stampede breakfasts this morning while walking to work. Many companies sponsor these breakfasts on the street, where they serve flapjacks and sausages and coffee, often with a country & western band playing.

I've had a sore throat since yesterday afternoon. It has mostly gone away now, but I still feel a little off. Hope I'm not getting a cold. Or bird flu, SARS, bubonic plague...

Good thing I'm not a hypochondriac.
