The Calgary Flames must have won their first game in the Stanley Cup playoffs, judging from the cheering and horn-honking I can hear outside. I don't follow sports, but it is impossible to live here and be unaware of the Stanley Cup, as it is all over the news and people are wearing Flames jerseys and sporting Flames flags on their cars. The police will be keeping a close eye on the Red Mile (an area of nighclubs and bars on 17th Ave. S.W., not far from here) to prevent rioting.
