I have finished going through my classical CDs, listening to the approximately 100 discs I have in chronological order. I'm glad I did this little project. It has given me a much better grasp on this collection that I acquired in a piecemeal fashion over a period of years. I have barely scratched the surface of what's available, but I like knowing that there is more to explore than I will ever find time for.

When I first started listening to classical music ten or fifteen years ago, I found 20th Century music most appealing. Now I find I'm less interested in anything modern and more drawn to 19th Century composers like Schubert, Brahms and Dvorak, especially their chamber music. It has a joyful, pastoral quality that I like.
