The other day while we were out for a walk, Lorna found a caterpillar on the sidewalk and rescued it by putting it in some bushes. After seeing a story on the news tonight, we realized that it was a larval Painted Lady butterfly. They are present in unusually large numbers in southern Alberta this year.
