We're in the middle of a snowstorm here. Can't see anything more than about one city block away.

This morning I took Lorna to a pre-Valentine's Day brunch buffet at a restaurant in one of the downtown hotels. It had the usual buffet fare, but nicer than most places (and much nicer than the diner we usually go to on Sundays). I had asked her not to get me anything, but planned to buy her a gift. Somehow I neglected to do that, and then this morning she gave me a semi-expensive gift. Oops! Well, technically I have until tomorrow, so I think I'm safe.

When I was in the Bay (a department store) yesterday, there was a Chinese dragon parade on the ground floor. On the second floor, I encountered a group dressed in white silk outfits doing Tai Chi. And the other night, I heard fireworks going off. All to do with Chinese New Year -- it is now the Year of the Rooster.
