The last few days...

On Monday evening, I took L to the James Joyce Pub for dinner. I was starving, and really wanted to go out. The pub is in an old bank building, and our table was in a room that must once have been the bank manager's office, with dark wood panelling and a fireplace. Our waitress had an Irish brogue. I had walnut & stilton salad, chicken curry and a green apple & berry crisp with whipped cream, plus a few pints of Kilkenny to wash it all down. It was one of the best meals I've had for a while, and an enjoyable ending to the long weekend.

Tuesday I was back at work. I notice that it is now dark when I get up at 6:30 a.m. Much of my time the past two days has been spent coming up with a written explanation of some program changes I made back in June, for the person who will be testing them. I wish he could have done the testing back then, but it doesn't always work that way. Then I had to handle a crisis involving disappearing code at a client site. I'm still trying to figure how that happened.

It's raining here again tonight, as it has been all too often over the past few weeks.

One more work day before the weekend...

A few examples of trees broken by the accumulation of snow, as mentioned in my last post. The snow is gone, but the damage remains.
