On Sunday, our prime minister called an election, to be held on June 28th. This is a little different from the USA, where the election dates are known long in advance and campaigns seem to go on forever. Hard to say which system is better, but at least ours doesn't give Michael Moore enough time to make a movie. Likely the Liberals will get back in, unless enough Canadians are fed up with things like AdScam and the outrageous cost overrun on the ill-conceived gun registry (which was budgeted at $2 million and has cost $1 billion to date). The Conservatives seem to be getting their act together somewhat, but I'd be very surprised if they won.
