Also watched the solar eclipse, broadcast from Antarctica on the Discovery Channel. Exciting stuff -- compared to watching paint dry. Actually, it did get quite interesting when the total eclipse approached. Closeups showed the outline of the mountains of the moon and flares from the surface of the sun. And the corona was impressive, once the eclipse was total. I also found it interesting that it was warmer in Antarctica than it was here in Calgary yesterday. Perhaps I should consider it as a holiday destination.
