Saw the movie Dirty Pretty Things at the Uptown. I enjoyed it, in spite of a few improbable plot elements. It's a drama/thriller, set in London among struggling immigrants. Recommended.

The Uptown is an Art Deco theater built around 1950 that now features "art films". Most of the older theaters in town have closed, to be replaced by multiplexes. The Grand closed a few years ago; the Palace was converted to a nightclub. I think only the Plaza and the Uptown are left.

A few examples of trees broken by the accumulation of snow, as mentioned in my last post. The snow is gone, but the damage remains.
