This afternoon I went to a movie theatre for the first time in about 6 months to see The World's Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins. Based on a true story and set in the early 1960s, it's about an eccentric pensioner from New Zealand who has souped-up an old Indian motorcycle in his garage workshop and wants to race it on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The movie follows his adventures in travelling on a tight budget from New Zealand to Utah, his struggle to get registered for Speed Week, and his attempts to set a land speed record. Throughout, his relaxed charm and persistence help him to find allies and achieve his dream. Anthony Hopkins is excellent, as usual, and the film is fun and inspiring.
