morning coffee

(no subject)

Judge Gomery has lifted the publication ban in the Adscam inquiry, which was the right thing to do. It would have been better if he hadn't imposed it in the first place. I got quite angry reading about it this morning in the Calgary Herald. I don't usually read the newspaper, preferring to get my news online, but the diner where I had breakfast had copies and the headlines were impossible to resist. I was in a grumpy mood already, but reading about how the federal Liberal Party has been treating taxpayer's money like it was their piggybank, to the tune of about $100 million, made me livid. Will any Canadian politician serve a day in jail or lose an election because of this? Doubtful.

I have a stack of new CDs that arrived during the week, and two volumes of short stories by R.A. Lafferty (both signed, limited editions with color plates and black-and-white illustrations -- beautiful books) that arrived today, so I have plenty to keep me busy this weekend.

Ms. H, how is Bean doing???
