morning coffee

At work, I've been researching version control software. We really need this -- if you are in the business of writing software, you need to have a good handle on your source code. I finished writing up a review and recommendation before my work week ended on Thursday. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

I've been busy today, but haven't achieved as much as I wanted. For example, this afternoon I wanted to put some boxes in our storage closet downstairs and then go to my post office box. The storage area was closed, so I had to bring the boxes back to the apartment. Then when I got to the post office, my box was empty.

nt: It was an exercise in futility!
L: Yes, but at least you got some exercise.

The fires in B.C. are getting worse. In Kelowna (one of the places I visited in June), 30,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. There is still a lot of smoke here in Calgary; some days are worse than others.

Between mad cow disease, SARS, West Nile virus, the blackout and the forest fires, it has been an eventful year in Canada.
