Busy day at work. The testers are finding what was missed or done wrong in the system. I am fixing bugs and filling in the missing code.

Went to a newly-opened pub called Dubliners for dinner. There used to be a pub called The Unicorn in the same location; it was owned by the Irish Rovers, who had a hit record of the same name in the late 1960s ("There was green alligators and long necked geese, some humpy back camels and some chimpanzees..."). I have lots of memories of The Unicorn from the past thirty years. It's nice someone else is using that space.

Reviewing my tax situation. I submitted re-assessment requests in April and May, got a letter in June saying they had received my information and would get back to me. No word since. They owe me a bundle!

The smoke from forest fires in B.C. is back with a vengeance. I can smell the burnt wood even sitting in my office, and the haze is visible against buildings a few blocks away.

I'm enjoying the new Rob Eaton remaster of 5-8-77 Cornell. An earlier master of Cornell was the second show I got after I started CD-R trading, so I have a soft spot for it. Some regard it as the best ever Dead show; others say it wasn't even the best that week. I don't play the "best ever" game and haven't heard any other shows from that week, so I will just say that it is very good.
