I've been listening to an "oldies" radio station a bit lately. It's all old stuff from the 50s, 60s and 70s that I heard on Top 40 radio as a kid, like The Everly Brothers, The Troggs, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Love Potion Number 9, Johnny Angel, early Bee Gees, semi-obscure Canadian bands like The Stampeders and April Wine, etc., etc. Probably 90% of what they play I know by heart, even if I haven't heard it for 20 or 30 years. It's all evocative of a bygone time, even the songs I never liked. But I find that a little nostalgia goes a long way. I'll listen for half an hour, then I want to hear something new.
