The pall of smoke over the city seems even worse tonight. It isn't irritating my eyes or throat, and the smell of the smoke isn't unpleasant, but visually it is rather gloomy.

At work, I don't have any outstanding projects, but I have had a steady stream of problems to fix and questions to answer, so I have been keeping busy. I'm glad my work week is over now.

Tonight L and I had dinner with our friend John at the Flying Emu. John seems to be doing well (his wife passed away a few months ago).
