My new PC hasn't arrived yet, but it has been shipped. I was thinking about my first computer, a Commodore 64, which I bought 20 years ago. Adjusted for inflation, it cost about the same as the new one, which will have 8,000 times more memory, a CPU that is about 10,000 times faster, and 700,000 times as much disc storage. Not to mention the ability to burn CDs, read DVDs, etc. etc.
