Today I got in the first decent walk of the year. It was a beautiful warm day; such a contrast with the cold of only a few days ago. We walked through Eau Claire, across Princes Island, and over the bridge above Memorial Drive, then climbed the wooden stairs going up the hill. The stair climb is sort of a benchmark -- if I can do that without too much effort, I feel I am doing well. I was gratified to see much younger people puffing and panting when they finished the same climb!
