Sunny and very cold here. We went for breakfast mid-morning after sleeping in. The cars were covered with frost, but there was no snow on the ground. At the restaurant, the waitress told us the manager had instructed her to give regular customers 50% off during the Christmas season. We left the difference as a tip. I think we'll stay home and hibernate for the rest of the day.

I've been listening to a Garcia/Grisman show {12-7-91 Warfield) that arrived yesterday. It's an audience recording with a few minor flaws, but I like it. Of all Garcia's solo projects, his duets with Grisman are my current favorite. I'm less a fan of JGB, though I've been enjoying 6-16-82 Music Mountain quite a lot.

I'm finally satisfied with the setup of my CLIE. I'll probably post more about that (than you'd ever want to know) later. When I first got the unit, I wasn't able to beam using the infrared port, but I tried it again today and it worked fine, which was a relief.

The winter solstice is today at 6:14 pm MST. This is the shortest day of the year. In Calgary, the sun rose at 8:35 am and will set at 4:31 pm.
