Sometimes I can listen to a CD, see a movie or read a book and, because I am tired and perhaps grouchy, I will not enjoy it and will find a lot to criticize in it. Then later, in a more relaxed and receptive frame of mind, I can experience the same CD, movie or book in a completely different way.

I'm noticing that with this Stones disc I'm listening to. I thought it sucked the first time I played it, but tonight I think it's great!

I've experienced this in other situations, too -- interpersonal relationships, jobs etc.

What I derive from this is that I should take my own opinions and reactions with a grain of salt.
