I called Telus and arranged for my Dad's number to be reconnected. I also asked them to drop some options like voice mail (which he had never figured out how to use). It was a totally different experience this time -- I didn't have to wait on hold, and the lady was pleasant and helpful. It should all be done within 24 hours, so I'll try calling him tomorrow.

I've had a somewhat frustrating work week. Today I spent most of my time dealing with a couple of bug reports, first fixing the user's data problems so he could meet a deadline, then trying (unsuccessfully) to figure out what was wrong with the program. At least I managed to get the user back on track quickly. Earlier in the week, I was working on changes to one of our most complex programs, and I wasn't able to get it working the way I wanted. Maybe things will start to come together tomorrow...
