I've also been going back and listening to Bruckner's Symphony No. 9, a classical piece that I haven't played for a while. My favourite version is the 1959 Bruno Walter recording. I was quite amazed on listening to it this weekend, at just how beautiful and powerful it is. Unfortunately, I noticed a mastering defect on my copy, and being the fussy type I am, I had to do a bit of research to discover it has since been remastered. I've ordered the remaster (plus another recording by a different conductor, Georg Tintner... plus a disc of Bruckner's Motets).
I like music that you can come back to and find that it was even better than you remembered; music you can keep finding new depths in; music you can grow to love.
